Join us at St. Swithun's Church, Bathford on Monday 26th January 2026 at 2.00 p.m. for a screening of Rabbit Proof Fence (subtitles) starring Kenneth Branagh This is a powerful true story of hope and survival. At a time when it was Australian government policy to train aboriginal children as domestic workers and integrate them into white society, young Molly Craig decides to lead her little sister and cousin in a daring escape from their interment camp. Molly and the girls, part of what would become known as Australia's "Stolen Generations" must then elude the authorities on a dangerous 1,500-mile adventure along the rabbit-proof fence that bisects the continent and will lead them home. As shown by this outstanding motion picture, their universally touching plight and unparalleled courage are a beautiful testament to the undying strength of the human spirit.
Stay after the film for complimentary tea and cake (suggested donation: £3.00).

11.45am. Lent Lunch at St Swithun's Church
Lent is a great time to ‘live more simply so others can simply live’- please come and enjoy a soup lunch each Wednesday lunchtime with your donations please to a different charity each week. There will also be a chance to hear about someone’s life before the soup! This is on the back of our Vicar's 20th anniversary service in October when people said they were interested in the different chapters of her life and faith journey- now it’s other people’s turns! The first in a series of talks throughout Lent.
You are warmly invited to attend all our Events and Services across the Benefice
